My Consumption Of Soda By Coca Cola - 1118 Words

I grew up in a home where nothing artificial was allowed, only organic and natural. If it came from a garden or a field it usually made it to our table. We drank hot tea every day, there was never any popcorn, pizza, or soda. I still remember the first time I had a slice of pizza and an ice cold glass of Coca-Cola in 1990. It was like a whole new world had opened up before me. I had fallen in love with soda. I loved the sugary sweet stuff, with its carbonation dancing down your throat sip by sip. It was heavenly. From that day on, no more hot tea, only soda all the way the colder the better. As the years past my fondness of soda grew into an obsession. Somewhere in a twenty-year span it became normal for me to go to Walmart and buy 14-20 two liters of Coca-Cola ever week and yes I did drink that much soda every week. My consumption of soda was so extreme that my friends and family regularly made fun of me for having Coca- Cola in my veins instead of blood and teasing me often by asking me if I wanted water to thin it out some. It all came to ahead in the summer of 2010. I had just finished mowing the grass and I was worn-out and exhausted. I drank my soda with a lot of ice and started to feel even worse. That is how my family found me on the couch, exhausted and white as a sheet. The only thing I could do was look up at them, my limbs felt like lead.
